Dear Supporters,

Thank you so much for your support and advice during these last few years. My darling friend of 33 years passed away April 26, 2008.

Frankly I am still numb no one ever expected her to pass Laura fought this disease for 10 years she always believed that she could beat it. Two weeks before she passed she was still reading labels and wanting to know about every medication and side affect before she put that med in her mouth.

Her courage and strength are unremarkable we all learned so much from her. My sister, Laura’s best friend put together an incredible slide show honoring her sister friend of 33 years now she has taken in Laura’s 17 year old son to ensure that he gets a good education and stays on track with his life he is a remarkable young man. At her service he said “I am everything I am because my mother loved me. She educated me, she taught me about music and life, she loved me unconditionally and she led me to God”.  Her husband…well lets just say he has moved on already…

At times I am at peace with her passing because I know that she is not in pain then there are times that I am so overwhelmed with grief that I fight back the tears. I have gotten physically sick to my stomach at times when I think about the fact that she is not here. My heart aches to hear her voice and hear her laughter.

I know that she has her dancing shoes on and I know that she is dancing, smiling, singing and laughing with joy because she is finally healed mind, body and soul…and I know that she is in Heaven.

You would have loved her…

To those of you fighting this battle and for those who have lost a loved one my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Maria

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I know that she is in a place where there is no more suffering, but that does not lessen the pain that you and her family are feeling now. I am a breast cancer survivor and I also know the pain of losing someone close to breast cancer. I have lost an aunt, a cousin, and a good friend to this disease. I will keep you in my prayers.

What a lovely tribute you wrote about your friend, Laura.  I must comment on the beautiful words and thoughts of her 17-yr. old son.  It was so moving to read, particularly with Mother's Day this Sunday.  How blessed he is to have you to "mother" him.  After reading your letter he is truly blessed and will live up to all his mother's expectations through your guidance and love.      Thoughts from a survivor

i was diagnosed with mastastic breast cancer in oct. 07, my friend with advanced lung cancer in dec. 07.  we have been as close as two women can be, she went into the hosp. friday morning and passed.  i have known losses before, parents and siblings and friends, but nothing has ever hurt me so deep in my soul as this.  we talked about everything, we messaged every day. i feel so lost and alone.  i am so tired of crying, i miss her so badly.  i wasn't so scared and hopeless when i had her to talk to.  i went for a chest x-ray today and am going to have an ctscan next week.  i am so scared.  i understand your pain, i hope it gets better for both of us, you are in my thoughts and prayers
