Psa, Lupron And Outcomes

You have me at a disadvantage on this question.

I have recurrent prostate cancer after a failed radical four years ago.....in Feb. 08 my PSA was 0.5..........two months after being on Lupron and Casodex my PSA is under 0.01. Lupron is generally the drug of choice to put the tumor into remission and shrink it before any major therapy. I should have been given it four years ago........Oncologist told me that.

Prostate cancer feeds on testosterone........Lupron blocks it. And something else........don't be mistaken: prostate cancer is usually slow growing........for awhile........then it can really take off. This is not uncommon. It took my PSA four years to get from 0.00 to 0.33........then in a month it went to 0.45, and in a week it went to 0.53.

I was on it for 2 years and then off it for a year until my PSA started to rise, now I am back on it and my PSA is .1  after about 7 weeks on it again. plus Casodex for 45 days, and now off Casodex.

is casodex a pill and dose it cause many side effects for you
