Subject: Scar tissue in colon
Date: 05/06/2008

Recently had a colonoscopy as a follow up to my colon surgery and chemo. The doctor said that my colon was almost closed due to scar tissue at the site of the surgery. He said that he stretched the colon out and felt that I responded well to it and probably wouldn't need surgery. I am wondering how many of you had this same type of experience and if the stretching of the colon worked well for you. Otherwise, my colonscopy came back clean and all blood work is normal. Due for another CT Scan in August. I was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in July 07.

my husband had the same experience that you had.

he had colon surgery October 06 with a colostomy.  he had a reversal July 07.  Jan. 08 he had a colonsocpy- the dr found a stricture at the site of the reversal.  he was able to strech the stricture during the colonscopy.   The dr. told us that this is a common occurance because of all the surgery in the same area.

My husband has a section of colon removed last August before he started his chem treatments. He has been having a severe cramping pain just before a BM and for about an hour after...did your husband have pain in connection with his scar tissue ???
