Has anyone dealt with this issue and what were your results. My husband has pancreatic cancer with the lymph nodes behind cancerous and this was found out during surgery which was supposed to remove the mass on his pancreas but they could not and just sewed him up.

I had the same news last September.  They told us he had a non-resectable tumor on the tail of the pancreas.  It had spread to the local lymph nodes and distant mets in the chest around his esophagus and in his abdomen.  They gave him 3 to 6 months.  We started praying and went to M.D. Anderson.  He was put on an aggressive chemo regimen of Gemzar and Cisplatin every 2 weeks.  He has responded well.  The tumor has shrunk and some of the distant disease is no longer measurable.  He recovered from the surgery well and we started eating fresh fruit for breakfast.  I truly recommend a book called 'Foods to Fight Cancer' by by Richard Beliveau.  It not only gives you some solid info on foods but it explained cancer in very understandable terms.  Don't get discouraged.  There are so many things on the horizon for pancreatic cancer.  M.D. Anderson has a treatment that claims to eradicate pancreatic cancer in mice and are hoping to move it to a clinical trial soon.  We are celebrating life and started walking 2 miles a day to get back in shape.  I know your heart feels so heavy, but you have to keep telling yourself that he's still alive.  He survived surgery and none of us have a promise of tomorrow.  The Lord has layed this on my heart in a very serious way.  You'll be in my prayers.

In April 07 the diagnosis was adenocarsinoma with unknown primary after a biopsy of the lymph glands. The primary was the pancreas we found out soon. The lymph glands involved are the ones that start by the renal artery and go to the pelvic area. Because they were all involved before a diagnosis was made he is considered stage4.

He started out with Gemzar, then went to 5-FU the TM started at 2350 went all the way to 8 . In January 08 he had his last chemo. However  the TM is creaping back up so he is scheduled to start again in June.

I had not seen any one before with mets to lymph and not liver or lungs.

It has been easier on him than those with mets to liver and lungs
