I have seen no agreement on this either among the doctors.  Some were in isolation for only 2 days.  It does depend on your dosage.  I received 100 mc and was told 3 days.  How high was your dosage?

Can someone give me some ideas on how to deal with this loneliness while home in isolation from having rai treatment. This is only my third day. I feel so alone. Husband only come up ocassionaly to check on me. I feel like i am a poison snake. This is the worst thing that i have ever had to go thru. I will start my synthroid tomorrow. Somebody please give me some support! I am desperate!

I used my "alone" time to write thoughts to myself & to pay attention to my dreams & right them down.  I found I actually had increased intuition during this time period &  verified the visions about different people that I was getting - pretty interesting.  But it wasn't fun missing the family Easter party, my son and grandson's birthdays, etc.

If you have a computer near you, you could Google:  "Stop the Thyroid Madness" which has some great information.  Also check out "Lawsuit against Synthroid" and "Side effects of Synthroid", and "Synthroid not approved by the FDA for 46 years because of problems".

After you look up the above info you may want to look up Armour thyroid and Thyroloar.  Some people do okay on Synthroid but many do not so hopefully this info will help you....

Blessings,

Hang in there, my friend.  You can have many, many loved ones around you--but dealing with disease in essence is a lonely road.  I have some favorite quotes to share.  I hope they might inspire you a bit--or just make you feel better for a little while:

Diseases can be our spiritual flat tires--disruptions in our lives that seem to be disasters at the time but end by redirecting our lives in a meaningful way.

There is in every true woman's heart a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity; but which kindles up, and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.

Courage doesn't always roar.  Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow.

Every day may not be good, but there's something good in every day.

Some days there won't be a song in your heart.  Sing anyway.

We are never far from where we need to be.  God would not have brought us to this place in our life if He didn't have something for us to  receive.

I hope these thoughts may have brightened your spirit a bit.  Your life is journey with good times and bad times.  Just hang on!!

Sending love from a breast cancer survivor!

Enjoyed your inspirational thoughts - and glad to hear you are a cancer survivior - me too -I got there because I had the experience one day of actually feeling "love" for the cancer.  I realized it was just another experience for me either to use as a great opportunity, or to let get the best of me.  In a meditation  I explained to the cancer if it stayed in my body it would die along with my body. but if it went into the light of God it could be transformed into love.  That exercise helped me let go of the fear.

I LOVED the tea bag story!  Thanks for that!  I chuckled & realized how true it really is.  What a wonderful day this is!

Were you given a Homeland Security card which states that you could be radioactive for 80 days?  I WAS!

no i was not told that by the nuclear doctor. I did ask about that and i was told that it wouldn't be a problem. On;y told that if i died in the next five days that a family member would have to let them no since my body is radio active for 5 days.

It was actually a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt.  My friend found it and framed it for me when I started going through everything.  Such a neat thought; uplifting and inspirational for all women!!!

Kathymmm, Thank you so much for letting me know about the other medications available. I have gained a wealth of information while researching this topic. I plan to ask my doctor about the other medications on my visit next week. It appears as though most of the patients seem to do a lot better on armour because of the t3 and t4 combination. I started on Synthroid friday and i am still very tired. My doctor told me that it would be about 6 weeks before i will actually feel the difference. He said that the it will be gradual process. Which one are you taking? I assume that you are taking Armour. I do not want to wait 6 weeks to get to a somewhat normal life again. Again thanks for the information. Knowledge is power.
