I started taking Tarceva about three weeks ago. The rash on my face shows up as tiny pimples with heads that pop and bleed. Sometimes they're in clusters and it's hard to stop the bleeding. Tiny scabs form but break off again when I wash my face. Has anyone had similar experience of bleeding rash?

Appreciate any suggestions for how to handle the bleeding and cleansing.

It sounds like your rash has gotten infected.  You need to contact your doctor for an antibiotic.  The rash should not be bleeding.  There is also a cream you can use called clobatasol propionate .05% that can be prescribed that should help.  Don't worry too much.  The meds will take care of it.  The rash is a very good sign that the tarceva is working for your and that's a good thing.

Hang in there and don't give up.  It's well worth it in the long run.  I've been on it 19 months and it's worked wonders.

Good luck and God Bless.

People's rashes are different. I doubt that yours is infected as I had the same thing happen. I changed my washcoloth to a soft babyi wash cloth and used a gentle cleasing lotion and non-alcoholic rinse with a good moisturizer. Lindi products are good for this also. The rash got somewhat better as months went by. Keep it moist with lotion. When it spread to my body, I used Eucerin cream. That helped to keep the scabs soft and relieve the itching. Good luck. The rash is worth it. It gave me 7 months of freedom, but eventually stopped working and I am now on conventional chemo with excellent results.

Hi, when I was first introduced to Tarceva, I had pimples with yellow puss inside. I dab it with hot (as much as you can tolerate it) clean face cloth till it burst.. it will bleed for a second then it stopped. It worked for me. I didn't have to use any cream or medication for it. I had these pimples on and off for two months.. now I don't get it anymore. I am on Tarceva for two years and still taking it now and have been doing well I found when I eat nuts eg.. peanuts, almonds, cashews I get more pimples. Try to watch what you eat because food can react to any kind of medications. Good luck.
