Hi there. Sorry to hear about your news. Just got mine as well.
I had what I thought was a fractured collarbone that calcified but that would have been too easy. Doc wanted ctscan and a tumor showed up in my right kidney. So I just had the kidney removed last Friday. Being that the lump on my shoulder is a tumor it is considered metastsized even though it is not in my lymph nodes or any other major organ. I'm expecting it to also show up in my bones when I get the bone scan done soon. Very scared. They are putting me on that new drug Sutent which is very highly touted.
Have you tried that yet? Supposed to work wonders.
I'm very sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with cancer as well. I will pray for your recovery from the surgery and quick defeat of the cancer. My husband passed away August 2005 but he had many, many complications. Just be sure to take good care of yourself, don't smoke, eat well even if you don't feel like it, and make yourself get up and around at least a little bit, and most of all KEEP A GOOD ATTITUDE!!! I know it's difficult but try because a good attitude will make all the difference. My husband's cancer was a very aggressive kind. You have a much better chance than he did! There is a person in our area who had it just in one kidney and had it removed and is cancer free now. I have read that normally kidney cancer is slow-growing. If you need ANYTHING, even just to vent, please contact me at

I know you are scared but you have to believe you will beat this. I have also heard good things about Sutent. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I look forward to hearing back from you on how you're doing. Take care!!
