Hi: Your mom should check with her doctor about her eye, but it does not mean its from the Gleevec. Gleevec does have side effects, but everybody is different. Just because some people get different things, does not mean everyone will. Some side effects are: swelling in the eyelids, especially when you wake-up in the morning. foot cramps, fatigue, anemia. Your Mom just started, and I wish her the best as she continues to take Gleevec. It has helped so many people like me. If you should have any questions, just ask. Suzzie
