Liposarcoma

I am 38 years old and about 4 years ago I went to my doctor with a tender lump on my hipbone which he said was a lipoma and nothing to worry about but I insisted it be removed. I consulted a surgeon that also agreed it was a lipoma. I had it removed in day surgery with just freezing and the surgeon called me 3 weeks later to inform me that it was a liposarcoma, stage 1. I then had to have sugery to scrape tissue to make sure that it was all gone and that I would not need radiation treatments, which I did not. The year after that I found a tiny lump  beside my bellybutton which was removed and found to be non-cancerous. I just had a check-up and there is now a lump in my abdomen on the same side as the original liposarcoma on my right hip. I am worried that it  could be the same thing. I have to go for more tests to see. Just wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience and could offer some guidance or support. Thanks.

I noticed you posted this about a year ago and I was wondering what happened?

I am a 27 year old male.

I started with a lump behind my leg
in
between my hamstrings. That was 4-5 years ago...Its somewhat movable,
doesnt hurt, I wouldnt say its soft but its not as hard as an elbow of
anything. At first I looked online and assumed it was a Lipoma. Over
the years more have sprouted up in various parts of my thigh (4-5
lumps)
One on the left side of my abdomen two to three inches above my waist
and one on the underside of my forearm in between my wrist and bottom
of forearm. Most recently I have noticed one in my chest about 3/4 of
an inch below my right nipple and an inch towards the center of my
chest. This one freaked me out(I was already freaked out with the
others, but for some reason lumps in the chest set off an im gonna die
this year alarm) I started to examine my chest more and It feels like
my muscles are different/harder on that side than the other. i have no
nipple changes or any discharges. Just the lumps througout my body.

 Ive
read many articles over the years and I figured they were lipomas but
now im not ruling out lymphoma or Liposarcoma. I wouldnt rule out some
sort of variation of Hodgkins disease.
Can you rule any of these out or suggest more?

It being 4-5 years since i first noticed the one in my leg leads me
to believe Im ok or I'm about to die (either way, doesnt allow me to go
to a doctor because I dont want to hear Im dying in a year, Id rather
live my life not knowing, so i can have some sort of happiness in my
possible remaining days)

I have no other symptoms, great shape, health, rarely get sick, etc.

If
it
is something serious and I have had it for 4-5 years is there any
estimate on my survival chances if I go get chemo and have them
removed? I know everyone is diff, but Im just looking for a ballpark
here. from what I've read it seems like people find them within a year
or so and get treated, so my 4-5 year range is driving me crazy.

Thanks,

Aaron

My husband had Liposarcoma in the leg first in 2009 now again in 2012 three years to the day stage 2b each time he did radiation and we are waiting for PT scan results had it yesterday.  I would go to a sarcoma specialists Liposarcoma is a very aggressive cancer and you dont' want ot question it down the road.

Good luck

Cathy
