I am 38 years old and about 4 years ago I went to my doctor with a tender lump on my hipbone which he said was a lipoma and nothing to worry about but I insisted it be removed. I consulted a surgeon that also agreed it was a lipoma. I had it removed in day surgery with just freezing and the surgeon called me 3 weeks later to inform me that it was a liposarcoma, stage 1. I then had to have sugery to scrape tissue to make sure that it was all gone and that I would not need radiation treatments, which I did not. The year after that I found a tiny lump beside my bellybutton which was removed and found to be non-cancerous. I just had a check-up and there is now a lump in my abdomen on the same side as the original liposarcoma on my right hip. I am worried that it could be the same thing. I have to go for more tests to see. Just wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience and could offer some guidance or support. Thanks.
