Need You Help In Understanding

hello everyone , I need your help .I have a brother in law who was just taken two days ago to the hospital with a growth the size of a grapefruit on his neck , The doctors say it is an advanced case of squamous carcinoma cancer . they are doing a byopsy on it this afternoon . all the family are fearing the worse and I just would like to have some understanding on it all and have an idea of his chances of living ?? Please help me , I have search the internet for days now and have not been able to find any real help ..

His outlook depends on if the cancer has spread beyond where the tumor is now. Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) is a fairly aggressive cancer, but is very treatable. They will also probably do a CT scan to see inside his neck and a PET scan to check for active cancer elsewhere.

Once you have the results of those tests, your doctors can give you a better idea of his prospects.

my boyfriend is stage IV scc...his doctors said his prognosis is excellent despite the staging.

think positively...it is a tough course of treatment but it is curable!!!
