I still can not believe this is happening to my Dad. When I say it out loud it sounds so insane that this is actually happening. My Dad is in great spirits though and he is taking everyday as a challenge. He is the strongest person I have ever met. My Dad has his own business and is continuing to work even though he is going through radiation and temodar. Do you think this is a good think or a bad thing? I am scared that he is pushing himself to hard but other family members tell me this is a good way to keep his mind off it. I was wondering if anyone else had this same dilemma. This website has been so helpful already. I thought there was no one that knew what I was going through but here I feel I am not alone. thanks for all the support.

Many are able to continue working after diagnosis and treatment.  It is not unusual.

My husband worked for 11 months after starting chemo (Temodar at first).  But, he came home every day exhausted and fell asleep by 6, then had a horrible time getting up and getting out the door the next morning.  And his boss was very lenient and undemanding of him. Though we didn't need the money that much, he wanted to work because he felt he was useless if he did not. I think physically he might have felt better if he rested and did not work, but mentally he would have become too depressed, so you have to look at the individual and their situation.
