Cost Of Sutent

I have been diagosed with renal cancer that was located in my left hip during a revised hip surgery.

Orthopedics want me to go the pill route,I was told by oncology,that the copay would be about $7000/mo,that is with Medicare and a Blue Cross Medex. If this is correct is there any help for someone who is on a fixed income,to assord this pill.

Pfizer offers financial assistance for those who qualify.  You can check it out online at www.sutent.com or ask your doctor for information.  I'm on my 3rd round of sutent and it's working for me.  Good luck and God bless.

My Father was just approved for his Sutent. We had a long week of waiting to see what the outcome would be. Thank god they approved it. He also has Medicare and Blue cross.  It only costs him six dollars a month. The retail price the pharmacy put on the slip said 5,953.00.  The doctors at our cancer center said that they will find a way to get it for someone. So try working with them also.  I hope everything works out for you.
