I had a whipple surgery in September of 06. I ended up with that surgery, then a bowel resection due to complications, and a hole in the bowel needing to be repaired after that. Then, in February 06, had an ostomy reversal. After all that, I was told I was clear of it all. Then, just last month, had a PET scan, which determined I had 4 spots on my liver. Had the largest removed (along with a cyst on my pancreas) and that was all they did. I still have the 3 spots. And now my Oncologist is telling me that there is no treatment, we just have to sit around and wait to see if they grow. The report came back that it was the exact same cancer as the tumor from my pancreas (non-functioning islet cell.) Has anyone else come across this? What are you being told? And, are you having any weird things happening to you, like random fevers and bad belly aches or any other symptoms I should be aware of? I wasn't nervous before, but now I am becoming so. She seems (the doc) not nervous about any of this, hasn't told me to worry or make any arrangements, but I'm still scared. Any response would be WONDERFUL. Thank you.
