Subject: My loving husband has lost the battle
Date: 05/24/2008

Hi -

I still can't believe that my husband is gone.  He passed away on Monday, May 19th.  As I've posted here the past couple of months, he had colon cancer, stage IV with mets to the liver and had bowel obstruction.  He fought this fight courageously until his last days.  As much as it hurts knowing that he's gone, I'm happy that he is resting and at peace.  He will not suffer pain any more.  It was a year from his diagnosis when he passed away.

I and my children miss him terribly, but I know that God will give us the strenght to go on.

Sorry to hear about your husband.  I think I replied to your email on the 16th of May.  Im glad he is not in pain anymore.  I know how hard it is.  I lost my dad almost two years ago and it still is so hard and I miss him dearly.  Sending prayers to you and your kids.  Mindy

Thank you.  It still just feels like he's just at the hospital or just away from home.  I still can't imagine him gone.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss and know how very difficult it is.  At first you pray and wish they stay with us and then you pray they are in no pain and in heaven, yet when it happens you just can't believe they are gone and want them back.  I lost my Mom to colon cancer in October, survived just less than a year.  Now my Dad is stricken with cancer, just a few months after Mom died.  Somehow Why is asked a lot.  I feel very badly for the pain  you are suffering, but many of us here are thinking of you and your family.

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband.  I totally understand how you feel as my husband, age 53, died on 4/27 after a 20 month battle with colon cancer.  He had mets to the abdominal cavity which ended up causing major bowel obstructions throughout the small intestine.  Just as you know, I know that my husband is no longer suffering and is at peace.  I will keep you in my prayers!
