I didn't post often to this site, but when I did, I received an outpouring of support from both cancer patients and caregivers. My husband was Stage IV with mets to the abdominal cavity. He passed away on 4/27/08 after a 20 month battle with this beast. He was only 53 and he left me and our two children. The evening before he died, I told my daughter that something seemed different and I didn't know whether he would survive the night. Well, he made it to 6:00 a.m. the next day and then started breathing funny. My daughter and I both held his hand, told him we loved him, and that it was ok to let go to be with his parents and two of his sisters. Josh Groban's song "You Raise Me Up" came on the radio station I had playing. My daughter and I looked at each other in disbelief as my husband/her dad took his last breath right after that song came on the radio. Although we miss him terribly and each moment in every day doesn't go by without us thinking about him, we both know he is at peace with God and is no longer suffering from the cancer. For those of you who are cancer patients and caregivers, keep the faith. Let's all hope they can find a cure for this beast!
