Hi! Its been a while since I have been on here. My dad was diagnosed with NSCLC on Jan5th, 2007, here is a quick (kinda) update of what has gone on...
started Carboplatin and Taxotere for 6-8 weeks right off the bat, and had 30 radiation treatments, then 12 radiation treatments of that IMRT machine, (suppose to be more intense). They tried to do surgery to remove the left lung, but when they got into the surgery they realized he had "flakes" on his aorta valve, so they just stopped the surgery.
he was then put on Tarceva, and stayed on it until about a month ago, they did another pet scan showing the tumor was actually starting to grow again. So now, his radiologist is going to do Cyber knife on him. This is new to us, but from what I have read has some promising results. I was wondering if anyone has had Cyberknife to the lung, or know anyone who has, and what they thought, etc... Please let me know, my dad is in really good shape, and is doing great right now, you'd never know he even had LC, Thank the Lord! I think about all of you alot, and pray for you all daily.
God Bless You!
