hello, all.  I am hoping that you can help me put this in perspective...

TT on 4/23/08 for papillary cancer (2 cancerous growth of 1cm and smaller non tested growths).

stitches removed by surgeon on 4/30.   I haven't seen primary care or surgeon since.  Surgeon recommended I have the RAI at a big city hospital.  The advocate there has been an absolute life saver.  Without her I would know nothing.  I went for th tracer dose yesterday (5/27) and mentioned that I have yet to receive meds of any kind so she called my primary to prompt them to medicate me after the therepeutic dose.  My primary's nurse sounded irritated that the advocate (a nurse practitioner) wanted me medicated almost 6weeks after TT.  The primary will be mailing me a script to fill and doesn't want to see me for 3 months.  Isn't that a long time to determine if the first med, the first dose is working????  Am I making too much of this?  I think that I need a new doctor (probably an endo to coordinate???).  How does it sound to all of you?  any thoughts much appreciated.

Wow, you haven't been on any meds since your TT?  You must feel like c***.  Well, yes you really need to see an endo.  They are the ones who will regulate your meds and check your blood levels.  Really 3 months after you start your meds isn't really that long.  It seems like it, but it takes a very long time for your levels to stabolize after starting your meds.  Usually they make me wait at least 2 months after they adjust my meds, so 3 isn't too bad.  However, an endo is really the doc you need to be seeing for this.  You said you had the tracer dose?  Have you had your scan yet?   When will you be having your RAI?  Have they made you start the LID?  It seems to me that you are not really getting the attention you deserve.  That stinks.

I agree with Skylog, you need to deal with an endocrinologist.  The order for meds and diet and treatment are very precise with thyroid cancer.  It sounds like you getting lost in the process.  Good luck!
