Dad was diggonised with advanced small cell lung cancer in Feb 2008 which had already spead to his liver, lymph and skin. Doc only gave him 3 does of chemo as although the lung tumor had srunk the others have progressed. We have been in contact with lots of doctors in respect of different treatments and keep hitting barriers last night we went to see someone about Radio Frequancy Ablation but there are some many tumors in the liver approx 40 that this is not possible. Does any one have any experience in this or advise??. Thanks for listening.
I have stage 4 lung cancer and have already finished with my radiation and chemotherapy as of August 14th. I have been in a clinical trial and have been taking Avastin by IV every 3 weeks and a daily dose of Terceva (150mg). I had no other options available to me such as surgery or the ablation. This particular therapy has worked for me. Even though the tumors weren't completely gone at the end of my chemo, they have continued to shrink and are currently not measureable. The side effects for me are chills, diarrhea and foot numbness and pain. However, this is a small price to pay for the benefit of a longer life. Good luck! Donna
