Is there anyone out there with an Oligoastrocytoma?  My husband was diagnosed about a month ago and I was wondering if there is anyone I can talk to.  Brain tumors are so different and affect people in different ways so I was wondering if I could find another that has the same thing.

 Thanks,

Michelle

Four years ago my dad was diagnosed with Oligoastrocytoma Stage II.  He underwent surgery and only could remove about half.  After surgery, he took 28 Radiation treatments and then in August 07, he started taking Temodar.  In Feb. 08, his MRI's showed some regrowth and he had another surgery again in April of 08.  The tumor had changed to Glioblastoma Multiforme Stage IV and this past Thursday he just had his first treatment of Avastin.  He did very well with the treatment and we are hoping this is going to stop the growth of this tumor.  Has your husband had surgery yet and where is he going to the doctor?  My dad went to Mayo Clinic and they are wonderful out there.

How is your Dad doing?  Does he have much memory loss or vision loss?  I don't think they even got 1/2 of my husbands tumor.

My dad does not have any vision loss or memory loss at all.  He has done extremely well.  We are really hoping that the avastin takes care of this tumor.  My dad is only 50 years old.

I had was diagnosed in 10/07 with oligodendroglioma II/III and I had a lot of problems with memory loss and vision for few months after surgery.  But It came back.  It just took some time for the brain to heal.

My husband had surgery on Feb 27 2008. and is just finishing up radiation.  It is great to hear that yours has gotten better!  How is your tumor now?  Is it gone or are you pursuing ather treatments?
