I have read several articles on Sen. Kennedy's GBM.  From reading the articles, I sometimes question if the one who writes the story understands what they are stating in the story.  I have questioned a few things about the outcome, and treatments.

Anyone else thought the same as I do?

From the start it has been an example of the state of the media. It is far more important to be the first to break the NEWS, than it is to get it right. Responsible and accurate journalism is a thing of the past ( Very long ago) I find this problem all the time in the NEWS. Uninformed people in the business giving stories out to the public with NO knowledge or little research on the topic. WHERE ARE THE EDITORS!!!

Lets just cram in as much BAD NEWS as possible!

As for me, I am a generally happy and optimistic.

Speaking from experience, I find that a long extensive interview is usally reduced to a few brief comments, that seldom have any bearing to what the interviewee had intended.  As stated by the other writer, it is usually reporters who have no knowledge whatsoever on the topic they are reporting.  There has been a wealth of misinformation about Senator Kennedy, but I think everyone on this panel understands better than anyone what he can expect.

Ditto.

And doesn't the media love to publish the worst they can find about everything?   Definitely not good for our loved ones.  The media focuses in on all the doom and gloom, all the references to this "lethal tumor" and all the old statistics.   That is definitely NOT what my husband needed to see all day on Monday when Kennedy had his surgery.

Best wishes to everyone,

Barb
