Subject: Cervix out of view?
Date: 06/04/2008

I am scheduled to have a cold cone biopsy after a colposcopy/biopsy and 3 bad follow up paps - ranging in results.  The reason LEEP is not an option is apparantly because my cervix is shaped/positioned uniquely they a) need me under sedation so they can clamp it and pull it forward and b) need to be very precise based on how my cervix sits.

Has anyone else had this challenge...Hoping to get through it fine as most of the posts say I will...just curious if this misaligned cervix had caused any other issues for you?  Ability to conceive (both pre/post cone) and to hold a pregancy?

Any info anyone has would be helpful.

What kind of dysplasia do you have? And is it in the endocervical canal? Have you seen the lab report? Clamping the cervix to get a good view of it for proper diagnosis is exactly what the doctor should do, but does your condition warrant cutting anything off? What do you mean by "bad" PAP smears? Look at the lab report to find out exactly what you have, where it's located, how extensive it is, if it's in the endocervical canal, and if the endocervical glands are involved. That will be your first step in being proactive about what is best for your body and your health.
