Any feedback on PF-00299804 (Clinical Trial for NSCLC) after failure of atleast one prior chemo regimen and failure of prior tx with tarceva will be greatly appreciated.

I'm in the process of enrolling in the Phase II trial for PF-00299804.  From what I understand, the trial is new - it just opened up at my treatment facility in late May - so there may not be many participants yet.  I was told that the results of the Phase I trial were "exciting"; that it seemed to work well in patients who had progressed while on Tarceva and that the side effects were similar.  I'm looking forward to starting - I'm hopeful that it will buy me some more time!

If there is anyone out there who was in the Phase I trial, I'd love to hear from you about your experience.

My mother just finshed the 1st 6 weeks of the investigationa drug PF-00299804. She was evaluted yesterday for the effectiveness and CT scan showed a significant decrease in the size of her cancer cells in her right lung. She had diarrhea and rashes as side effects but it's managable. I guess this drug is really promising. She will continue taking it daily. Hopefully it continue to work well so other can benefit from it too.

My father started this trial recently. The rash (acne like) has been extremely severe, much more than Tarceva or Iressa. Has anyone else had painful rash from this medicine? Does it get better after the first couple weeks? Any tips for managing the side effects?
