My little step daughter went into the hosp because of severe vomiting. They found a blockage and took 6-8 inches of her Colon and intestine. It was resected. It was determined to be adenocarsanomia and part of it was in stage 4. It also was in 1 lymph node. This is typically found in adults I understand, they are planning chemo and a cat scan as opposed to a pet scan. What questions do I ask? Any advice? Experience? Where do I get CLEAR information?

Subject: Find Out What They Mean Re: Stage
Date: 07/15/2005
Your message said that "part of it was in stage 4". I am not trying to alarm you, but Stage 4, at least in most of the cancers I've read about means that it has spread to other parts of the body. It's important to ask them to to do scans of all possible affected areas.

When my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, I started researching immediately. Look this website or cancer.org and read the specific cancer type and its staging.

My heart goes out to you and your daughter. Stay positive and pray a lot. Read and research. People do beat this. It is possible.
