Hello,

I am keen on searching for alternative cancer treatments in Mexico and have come across the Oasis of Hope and the Issels treatment. I am fed up with the NHS and am looking for help, however I am confused on the differrences between the Oasis and the Issels treatment. Can anyone please help me differentiate the treatments and give me any advise.

Thank you very much.

Dave

Hi Dave I am presuming from your member name and your reference to the NHS that you are located in Britain. Perhaps it is not necessary to travel out of your own country to get the help you are looking for. I don't have any personal knowledge about the two clinics you mention but I have been communicating with a cancer patient in Scotland who is being treated with alternative protocols by a medical doctor located in London. Here is a link to that clinic in case you would like to research it.....http://www.wwhealthcare.co.uk/cancer.htm .... Let me know if you'd like more indepth information.

If you do go the alternative approach, make sure that you continue to have scans and other tests done to assure that you are aware of continuing or new problems. Alternatives have not gone through trials to assure their efffectiveness.  As for an approach combined with the traditional plan, alternatives can be very helpfull.  I have used both approaches and I am cancer free after 3 years if fighting the beast.  (Colon Cancer)  Good luck and God Bless.

Hi, my husband and I are at the Oasis Hospital right now.  He is with the Issels program.  Both programs, Oasis of Hope and Issels Foundation have their own websites and contain the information you need to make your decision.  We have met many wonderful people here, both staff and patients.  You can email or call both places and ask questions.  We have met survivors here also.  Some volunteer their services and it so wonderful to know people who have gone through the same program; who have faced the same struggles and survived.  If you want more info, please feel free to email me.
