I'm so sorry about your Dad's situation. I remember going through the same thing with my mom after her surgery. Just remember though that the surgery in itself IS helpful-so he certainly has had something done about his cancer! They also will most likely not even discuss chemo for many weeks. Chemo makes the body heal much slower and especially in your Dad's case they will want him to be fully healed before anything else happens. In my mom's case it was at least 2 months before she started chemo. Since then-each time she has had an "operative" event, the chemo (esp the Avastin) has been held for up to 2 months around the surgery. I understand the angst and frustration, but I think it sounds quite reasonable that they aren't addressing chemo right now.
