Many of you have listed a vitamin C and B therapies to fight cancer.  Has anyone visited a dietician or consulted with any specialist as to what we should take and what amounts?  Also...what about a juicer (does that stuff really taste good?!) and what if I LOVE sugar?  Of course my health is most important, so I am finally trying to find my way in this world of vitamins, minerals and other exotic herbs.  What is real and what is hype?  Thanks!

Hi YaYaTara I can answer some of your questions from my own experience and hope the information will be helpful. Yes I did consult with a dietician and nutritionist who are part of the clinic where I receive my Intravenous Vitamin C treatments. I saw them after testing was done by a Naturopath and also by a medical Doctor who specializes in complementary/alternative medicine. Once my own particular deficiencies were identified then the supplements that were required to bring my inner terrain back into balance and strengthen my immune system were recommended. Of course these may vary according to each individual's own needs so every one should have their own testing done, but some are generally recommended for cancer. Vitamin C is one supplement that is recommended for everyone since all humans have a genetic disease in which they lack the enzyme gulano lactate oxidase which finalizes the conversion of glucose to ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) and therefore need to supplement their bodies with this valuable antioxidant. I personally take 10grams (l0,000mg) each day broken up into five doses and then increase this dosage.... to tolerance, which for me is between 30,000 and 40,000mg if I get symptoms of a cold or flu coming on. I also juice daily. I have eight ounces of organic carrot juice each morning before breakfast and another eight ounces before dinner each night. Six to eight ounces of organic concord grape juice is taken before lunch and an hour or so after dinner at night. I didn't really like the carrot juice when I first started juicing but it has become an aquired taste and now I enjoy it. I really do hate to tell you YaYaTara but yes, SUGAR is a NO NO. That was really hard for me to give up in the beginning since I have always loved to bake and desserts where always the perfect ending to every meal I thought. Not so! I now allow myself the odd small cookie but to tell you the truth it doesn't take long before one loses their taste and cravings for the forbidden things because one's health and sense of well being improve so quickly it makes it all worthwhile. If you would like more information on the protocols I follow, let me know. I am happy to share. All the best.....

Also, Shemay--where do you get your supplements?  Do you see your nutritionist for them or do you go to Whole Foods or other health food stores? Tomorrow I'm going to start my new way of eating.  I crave sugar and have chocolate every day, so I will have to go through the days detox and headache.  Typically, what is a day or two of your daily diet?  I don't know where to begin.  I love fruits and vegetables, so that helps.  Do you eat bread?  Thanks SO MUCH~~Tara

Hi again Tara.......this is for you too Ray I get all my supplements from either my Naturopath or my Medical/alternative Doctor. They are almost always cheaper there and I know they are of the best quality. You may find that a cup of coffee will help with the headache you might experience from the chocolate withdrawal. This is not to say there is caffeine in chocolate but there is a chemical that causes a similar reaction. http://www.xocoatl.org/caffeine.htm The Regimen I follow is quite lengthy and when I post it on this board it always comes through compacted and that makes it very hard to follow. It should be clearly defined in paragraphs. Well, I'll post it and take a chance. If you find it too hard to sort out send me a private message and I'll gladly send it along that way. All the best...Sheila ______________________________________________________________ A REGIMEN FOR REGENERATION AND DETOXIFICATION http://www.essiacinfo.org/ http://www.theherbs.info/recipe1.html 1st thing in morning ESSIAC tea-----one hour later 6 to 8 oz carrot juice before lunch----- 6 to 8 oz concord grape juice before dinner---- 6 to 8 oz carrot juice 2 hrs after dinner---- 6 to 8 oz concord juice Last thing at night--- ESSIAC tea-------VERY IMPORTANT ALSO VERY IMPORTANT......Take 2 x 1,000mg natural source Vitamin C with each meal and before bedtime. THANK YOU, Shemay.  It does sound overwhelming, so I'm going to print it out and then eliminate those foods (which will be hard for me because I love to eat).  I'm thin, so when I go on the LID before RAI, I lose 10 pounds.  I appreciate the research and experience that you have shared.  How did you find a doctor who will do this testing and filling the vitamin order?  I wonder if there is one in every city?  I'll check it out---thank you, thank you!  Tara

You're very welcome Tara. Just trying to"pass forward" some of the helpful information that others came forward with when I was first diagnosed. Perhaps you can find a doctor or a clinic through this directory http://www.orthomolecular.org/resources/pract.shtml#ca BE WELL! Sheila
