Thanks to all that responded to my previous post about the jerks and morphine. My husband's Onc. seems to think the morphine is working the best for him- he has tried just about every drug available for pain. Sad news when you find out you have mets to the bone because it is very painful and most drugs will not control all of the pain. For his sake, since there are no more treatment options I pray it will not be months and months before the end. We have been married 37yrs. so it will be hard but so is watching him waste away. Thanks again and take care. Margaret
Dear Baptist, My husband to has mets to the bones (hips and spine). His last PET showed no new growth and some improvement, so please don't give up. My husband was having sporadic pain mostly at night. We just found out through a blood test that his sodium levels are low again and that also causes pain. To treat low sodium levels, the doctor gave him an antibiotic and he has to restrict his fluid intake to no more than 8 cups of liquid/day and then it usually returns to normal. Hope this helps. Look into every treatment facility you possibly can (a lot of them are on this board, including somehting about Vitamin C). We've only been married 23 years and I can't imagine life without him. Miracles happen every day.
