My husband has small cell lung cancer, stage 3B. Has anyone taken the mushroom supplement called Turkey Tail? If so, has it helped? Did they have any reactions? I have been given information on this from several sources and was wondering if anyone out there had heard of it or tried it.
Thanks,
Daisy
Hi Daisy,
It's been a while since you wrote this message. I hope your husband is ok.
I read your message while going back thru older stuff looking for information. Saw that you hadn't gotten any responses, thought maybe I could help. There have been quite a few posts that include information on Turkey Tail mushrooms (Coriolus versicolor) - they pretty much have been scattered throughout the boards for specific cancers.
I ran 2 searches for you - if you go to these URL's you will get my search results:
http://www.cancercompass.com/search-results.htm?q=coriolus
http://www.cancercompass.com/search-results.htm?q=coriolus %20versicolor
If you are interested in finding out more about this mushroom, or in ordering, this is the site that I have most often seen recommended:

Hydroman responded to a thread said, he had taken this mushroom extract while getting chemo, and that he had results way more impressive than the dr expected, and much less side effects from the chemo. Here is the message thread, his is the 2nd message:

I wrote to him and asked about coriolus - He gave me this web reference:

I hope this information helps. Sorry it took so long for anyone to respond to you - unfortunately, the nutrition and alternative treatment boards do not get nearly as much attention as the specific cancer boards.
Sincerely,
Tre
