Ok, I might be over reacting but this stuff is scary.

It has been 5 weeks since I had Leep, uterin ablation, & my tubes tied. I was never told before the surgery that I might have discharge for up to 8 weeks after the ablation. Well, I know now. I can deal with that but 1 week after i was having dark bleeding, cramps & had to change my pad every hour or two. So I called the nurse she told me that was normal. Now it has been 5 weeks & I started bleeding just the same as before a few days ago. I am kinda freakin out. So I called the nurse & told her what was going on she spoke to the Dr. & called me back. She told me the Dr. Said that because I had the balloon ablation this is normal & she wants me to take birth control pills to try & stop the bleeding & if it does stop in a week to call back.

I am no Dr. but I just don't feel that is right.

I have not been pleased with the treatment I have gotten from my Dr. since after I had my surgeries. At my 3 week check up she gave me the pictures of the inside of my uterus & cervix, come to find out I have two small polyps in my uterus. As far as I was informed an ablation is only recomended for a healthy uterus & polyps my cause bleeding problems. So I am wondring why my Dr. would have done the ablation after seeing the polyps & before the ablation was done? She also told me that the biopsy from the leep still had CIN 1. Another thing I am wondering is at my 3 week check up she told me to come back in 6 months for my regular pap. I thought I was supposed to go back after 3 months. In fact I was told by a family member that had a leep done that her Dr. said it is a law in Washington that women that have the leep done should be seen 3 months after. I am not sure if that is true though. Do you know?

On top of every thing I am having trouble with my medical insurance & am not currently covered.

Please take all of your lab reports and get another doctor. The nonchalence of her attitude and her nurse's attitude are inappropriate. According to everything I have read, you're supposed to return in three or four months after treatment for follow-up. Please get a new doctor for the follow up. If you're not sure where to start looking, call your primary care physician and get a referrel. Insofar as the trouble with your insurance is concerned, is there anyone you can notify at the insurance company to straighten this out or can the state medical board help you? If you are near a teaching hospital, they could also work out a payment-installment plan while you are followed up by them.
