Doctor's App Today

I wrote the other day about my husband's neck swelling.  We had his regular appointment today.  I forgot the term that the rad oncologist said but it is fluid from the lymph nodes from radiation.  I told him that all of you said that's what it probably was.  Thanks to all of you we weren't so worried when we went today.  The rad dr also looked down his nose and throat.  He said he couldn't see anymore of the tumor on his tonsil and his neck area was all soft.  He told us to schedule the PET scan for next week and to make an appointment with the surgeon after the scan.  We will try not to think about the PET because a week can seem like an eternity when you worry.  I will let you know what's next.

The term is lymphedema. I get it too, now and then. The radiation oncologist said it can last up to 2 years before it fades away, mine has been getting better lately, but some days my throat still looks like the Michelin man!

Good luck on that PET scan next week. I know how the waiting is.
