Hi:  It really helps to talk about your type of cancer, and I actually made a few friends who found me regarding my Leukemia.  Its a terrible disease, but so much is being done with Cancer.  It is becoming a Chronic Disease and not a life sentence as years ago.

Whatever you are dealing with.  Post a Message, and you will find someone to share and understand what you are going through.

God Bless All Of You

Hello, to all cancer fighters:

I was diagnosed with CML, March 3, 2008.  CML is a terrible disease that will take over your body, but the treatment my Oncologist use is Gleevec.  August 6, 2008, Gleevec threw CML IN COMPLETE REMISSION!  My dose has decrease to only 200mg.  The only side effect

is my feet cramping and I have not experience that since I started a weekly Pedicure.  I stress less and be around postive people that understands I do not want pity, I am alive and do the things that is

Pleasurable to me. Remember You Are Not Alone!

Wishing You Well

Hi Biloxi:  You are new to the Gleevec, and you might find a lot of side effects as you go along.  One of the first is that foot cramping.  It is 8 years now that I am on Gleevec, and I still get the foot cramps.  I try to walk it out when they get bad. The fact that you went into remission is fantastic.  Your positive attitude will get you far.

Hi, My name is Elaine.  My mother has had CML for over 6 years.  She started on Gleevac, then Sprycil, now Tasigna.  She is 79 years old, and is starting to resist the Tasigna as well.  She recently had a stroke, was in the hospital, when she got a bowel obstruction.  After surgery, she has continued to decline.  CML has not been so difficult until now.  My father has had AML since September diagnosis.  Two parents with leukemia is very rare, I am told, and it has been a very hard time trying to care for both of them.  There should be a website for caregivers.  It is exhausting, both physically and emotionally, but more spiritually as you see your loved ones decline.  God bless you all as you fight this terrible battle with a vicious enemy, Cancer!
