Surgery + chemo sounds good to me. When you're done with all that, you might even want to have a look at some immunotherapy (like a cancer vaccine). Also, you might want to ask the surgeon to have a sample of your tumor frozen for later use. Usually they take a sample and put it in wax, but for some of the best immunotherapies, you MUST have a frozen sample. You should know that the immunotherapies, while really promising in theory, are still highly experimental and while not very dangerous, have not been terribly effective.
I know where you are coming from. I had a large tumor removed from my liver and had a recurrence less than a year later. Another surgery and a whole lot of chemo later, I'm doing well, but I'm not quite in remission. Once I get into remission the plan is to get some immunotherapy, since I am at high risk of recurrence. I figure every little edge I can get helps.
I think from what I've heard, cholangiocarcinoma is pretty aggressive, so you should deal with it aggressively. Surgery + chemo is a good plan.
