My dad was diagnosised with Esophageal cancer in January 08, he opted for no treatment.
He slowly started to decline, and about 3 weeks ago (June 08) he went to get checked out because he was extremely weak and ill. They said he was losing blood, they wanted to check the stent in his esophagous (put in in May 08). When they went down they said the cancer had spread to his stomach. There is a large tumor, they cadorized it, but they told us it would probably start bleeding again in 2-4 weeks. Again he has decided on no treatment and hospice has came in.
They said once it starts bleeding again there is a very real possiblity of him hemorraging and passing within a matter of minutes. THIS IS A SCARY THOUGHT. Do you think the doctors were 'over reacting' as I cannot find anything on this on the Internet.
Has anyone had experience with tumors hemorraging or has anyone been told this about themselves or their loved ones?
Any help or insight would be great! Thanks in advance.
