Hi my mom is 81 and has medicare but Kaiser is the HMO that controls it. She is stage IV NSCLC and we want to look into having Cyberknife done on her liver mets. Last week I had to battle her oncologist long and hard before he admitted that he knows nothing about cyberknife and agreed to refer us to Kaisers radiologist oncologist who we will see next week. I am expecting a battle again as I feel that even if he thinks she would benefit from it that his hands will be tied by Kaiser.F rom what I have seen they do not like their patients outside of their network and thou they do not own a cyberknife I doubt if they would be willing to help pay for it thou medicare itself has paid for others but mom's medicare is controlled by Kaiser. I am wondering if anyone else out there has Kaiser and has gotten them to cover things done outside of Kaiser and how did you go about it? I took a look at their website and have no idea of where I would even send an E-mail to reach someone there that might be able to help. Thanks. JanMarie
