My uncle was diagnosed a month or so ago, he is in stage 4 and they are going to begin treatment in 2 weeks. They said he has had it for years and although its a slowly progressing disease, its been taking over his body for so long that now it is aggressive. They said the traditional treatment wouldnt be succussful for him because most people on it havent been successful. They said 16 months is the common life expectancy on that treatment (aggressive chemo and radiation) for people similar to his particular case. My family is devastated over this news. They are going to try a clinical trial with chemo on him. 1 week on 3 weeks off at fox chase cancer center in the outskirts of philadelphia. I guess I am just asking for any information about the road ahead? Coping advice for my uncle and his family? And anything anyone else might like to add. Thank you and best wishes for all!
