Hi, My husband will be receiving his 19th session of chemo today. It was decided to continue chemo instead of stopping after the 12 treatment hoping for surgery. He has many mets in his liver. His face becomes really red like a bad sun burn and he has a bumpy rash on his forehead. they cut his 5-fu back 13% the last 2 sessions. Anyone had something like this?

My husband did get a red and bloated face, no rash. Cutting back  is probally a good idea. Good Luck!

Hi,

I had the same issues. Don't remember what chemo I was on but I got just a few bumps on my forehead and then around my cheek and nose area it became sunburned  almost warm to the tissue.  Not unusual at all. The nurses would kid with me and say "see you got your chemo burn". It would only last a day and then go away.  No big deal at all.

Hope this helps and LiveStrong,

Lisa

Thanks for the reply...my husbands last for at least a week or more. Did you notice that yours got worse in the sun??

My wife uses Thermal Spring Water spray (by La Roche-Posay), it was recomended by her doc....it works great for her.

She is on her 13 Chemo...normally her faces is all red during the second day of Chemo. After the chemo she also gets that nice "sun tan" color, plus some rush.....she is handling it with this spray, plus some specialized skin lotions. She is on Folfiri+Erbitux.

 Good Luck

Thanks so much for the insight. Where does your wife buy the Thermal Spring Water?
