Myxoid Liposarcoma...

Hey Ya'll,

 Lets see I'm 22 years old... with myxoid liposarcoma...Not many people have it or have heard of it.. I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything about it?

I had never heard of it either, until I was diagnosed with it. I am told that this is a very aggresive tumor, and have been doing a lot of running around to see what can be done to treat it. I have found a hospital in Florida that treats it with a new drug called Yondelis. It has been used in Europe with very good results. I am trying to have my insurance company cover the office visits, since I only have an HMO. Do you know what treatments they will be giving you?

hey! yes i do know what they are giving me... they are giving me adyrmycin ifex and mesna. mesna is not a chemo but it is something that protects my bladder and kidney from the chemo. it sucks yuck haha. anyway thanks for your tip. im going to see my doctor friday and see what he says. i had a cat scan today to see if the chemo is working. so i will find out friday if it even works.

 its funny you say the cancer is aggresive. my docs have always said they are SLOWwwww growing. Which is crazy bc every three months i have a new tumor. ha. where in florida. i go to MD anderson orlando . let me know! thanks for the info.
