Preventing Reoccurence

I had a spot on my liver metasisized from colon cancer (colon removed).  After 4 months of treatment my cancer has gone.

My oncologist tells me that this type of cancer is a chronic condition and recommends that I continue with treatments to prevent reoccurence. 

 I find the side effects of chemo very debilitating and extremely disruptive to my lifestyle.  Well worth suffering for 4 months to eliminate the cancer but I do not want to continue with chemo treatments for the rest of my life.

 Any suggestions as to how I may control this cancer with diet, activity, or other means?

 I will be continuing to be tested for reoccurence and will get back on chemotherapy if the cancer returns.

Hi Goat Lady,

in a word...exercise!  There were several articles in Heal magazine and also Women & Cancer this month about the reduction in reoccurence of all cancers when 3-6 hours of simple exercise is preformed weekly.  Simply walking at a brisk pace has been reported to be enough.
