I am contemplating havng the HD IL 2, (in Boston, Mass). My ca has mets to liver, spine, possibly pancreas, lungs, adrenal gland and who knows where else. I had been in two clinical trials, first with Avastin/tarceva which was a year after my kidney removal. There had initially been a mass on the pancreas tail as well which they resected. And now another year has passed, I did okay on the Avastin for seven months then new growths appears, so I was then begun on the Sugen trial. This drug worked very well in my lungs and chest lesions, however, I just grew lesions in the spine, and which gave me pathalogic fracture in L5 and L3 perhaps. I have been in a lot of pain for 3 months. They are now talking to me about IL 2. I am hesitant, but the doc. said after rechecking my original slides from initial tumor, that the type of cell I had is aveola as opposed to pappillary, and aveola is more receptive to the IL2.
Anyone out there had this treatment and what were your results? How did you manage the treatment?
Deserate for help, I am 50 years old now, 48 when diagnosed.
