how long have you had AML

Hello, I would like to hear of some encouraging words about people who have AML and have had it for 5 years or longer.

It hit me just over 15 1/2 months ago. I am now in remission. They tell me that I must first get past the 2 year time frame. Also that a great many people will have a relapse in the time frame.

Then the next hurdle is passing the 5 year mark. I just had my check up today, (I go about every 2 months) and now I have a great headache. Why, because I am closing into the 2 year period.

Someone please tell me that there are lots of people who have passed the 2 year and 5 year periods and are doing just fine.

I am a strong person and came through my treatment and hospital stays with flying colours. But now as I said before, I really do need hear from these people before I have a melt down.

Hi,

My son was diagnosed with AML over four years ago, relapsed, had a transplant and is in remission today enjoying life. I believe some of the supplements we are giving him (curcumin, green tea extract, mushroom extracts, etc. are helping). For good information on AML and some things you can do to support your health see:

Many people survive this disease and so can you.

Thank you so very much for responding. I did check out the web site and did get some useful information. I think that I will start trying some of them. Also if it isn't to personal, would you tell me how old your son was when he was diagnosed. thank you again and all the best to your son.
