I have to admit this is another tough transition, but my surgeon told me it was a given for the rest of my life. I get tired of sleeping on an incline, but it is necessary. The first year I slept in a recliner at about a 45 degree angle, then I graduated to the 12" wedge with our bed up on 3" high bricks. Another friend who had EC told me to put a pillow under my knees to keep me from slipping down in the bed and that did help. I have frequent neck aches so my husband bought me a neck pillow that didn't work. Finally we took the plunge and purchased an adjustable bed. Very expensive, but it has been worth it. We were able to get them to come down 50% in the price by hedging. I still keep my bed at an incline of about 35 to 40 degrees. If I don't eat just before bed, I can go lower.
Another friend who had EC told me he eats "nothing" after 5 pm. I snack a lot so it is my own fault to have to be more on an incline.
