Last week I posted wondering whether my husband increased swelling is just a set back or the beginning of the end.

Well after talking with his doc today my fear was justified. His last MRI showed a wide area of enhancement and clinically he is getting worse everyday. He sleeps most of the time, hardly eats, drinks, converse, or willing to get out of bed. It is hard to believe that just a month ago we were on vacation and he was fully active and feeling great. At this point I just hope he won’t suffer at the end.

God bless and give us the energy to keep going,

Ariel

Hi Ariel

My thought and prayers will be with you and your husband during this difficult time.  I posted yesterday that as we sang a particular verse in a hymn that my thoughts were of two patients on this board w/ brain cancer but in case you didn't see it.

Diana

When my feeble life is o'er,
Time for me will be no more;
Guide me gently, safely o'er
To Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore.

Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

I am so sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your husband. As a 14 month survivor of GBM iv. I know how devasting it will be when the MRI shows renewed growth. I am having an MRI tomorrow and I pray for more time, but I know the day is coming when there will be bad news. God give us all the grace to handle tha bad news and keep our faith strong.

I am so sorry to hear about your husband.  There aren't really too many words of comfort at this difficult time I know.  You may find some information to help you in the books Final Gifts and Crossing the Creek.  Final Gifts you can buy at any bookstore but Crossing the Creek is more difficult to get.  You can do a search on it and buy it directly from the hospice nurse that wrote it, or the local hospice might have a copy like mine did.  Both of those books were extremely helpful to me in knowing what to expect and helping me understand how to be there for my mom.  Reading those books helped me keep my sanity.  You are in my thoughts today.
