How Long Does This Process Take?

Subject: How long does this process take?
Date: 07/28/2008
We are waiting for the PET scan results so they can determine if the cancer has spread - after that they will either open him up and take a biopsy and close him up or they will remove his entire left lung.  What should I be asking or doing??
