From what I can learn on the effectiveness of the chemo drugs is that they are effective somewhere between 2 and 6% of the time (in absolute terms, not relative terms). Not very good odds. But then again, what do we have but alternative medicine, with no published statistics?
Here is one that seems to be working well for me... it is a mushroom extract from the species Coriolus Versicolor. It is very popular in Japan. I started taking it and a new chemo drug (Alimta) on the same day and wow! Within 3 days I was feeling better. I went off oxygen within a week, stopped coughing, had more energy, etc. Now was it the Alimta, the mushroon extract or the combination? Sorry,I don't know. But one doctor told me that she had never seen such a fast response to the chemo drug. I was dignosed with stage 3b lung cancer (NSC) adenocarcenoma back in Sept, 2007. Several chemo drugs failed to help and then I went on the Alimta/mushroom extract and now, I feel as good as I did when first diagnosed. I know that one report is not a study but for what its worth, it is helping me. It is cheap and there are no side effects, so why not try it? Has anyone else tried it? Please use this message board and share your experience, good or bad. Just maybe we can develope some statisticts. Hydroman
