I was just wondering if there are any suggestions regarding getting results from the scan - the doctor was unavailable all week last week and was unable to get us any results even over the telephone.  Husband has been another weekend in excruciating pain - feel I'm being firm with the doctors - what to do??

My PET  scans have been read immediately and I got the results the following day.  Same with CT.  I sign a release of info form after a few days and get the formal results and resultant reviews in writing.  I have even gone and sat in the Docs office until somebody helped me.  The 'Squekey Wheel" (sp) :) gets the oil.  Get On them!!

I just went through the same thing.  The Scheduler forgot or was too busy the schedule my PET Scan and was unable to get the Scan results back to the Dr. until he was on vacation.  I would have a waited 9 days longer than I should have had the appointment been handled properly.  I called the Dr's office numerous time and finally talked with the Office Manager where he arranged an appointment with another Dr. to give me my results. So that was oneless weekend I to worry about the results.  Unfortunetly the results were not very good and now I wait for my Dr. to call me to discuss and treatment options there might be for me.  I have gone thru the gamet of chemo's hoping there is one that will work this time.  It is unbelievable to me that you should have to wait so long for results.  There shouls always be a back up plan at your Dr's office for these types of situations.  I understand your stress and frustration.  The unknown is the worst....

Thanks Kim

Unfortunately we didn't have good news either - I think he probably didn't want to discuss it with us.  It has spread to his bones.  Now he's going ot have a iliac biopsy.  We have no idea what we are in for except a long haul.
