Just starting need advice

I will be starting radiation in 2 weeks for oral cancer at base of tongue, I have been having places removed since 2003, (tonsil, soft palate area)but the last surgery showed no clear borders, no lesion thank GOD, but time for radiation. Is there anyone who has continued to work during this? I will have 35 treatments, m-f for 7 weeks, no chemo. I am self enployeed as a real estate appraiser and work from home, the inspection of the house is the only physical thing and then hours and hours in front of the computer, so not much physical strength needed. I also am planning of the tube in my stomach, can I exercise with this in? I am also afraid of not being able to swallow. so many questions....My big thing is vicodin, and darvocet make me sick, is there anything else??? I know by reading some of the postings that I am fortunate that I still have my tongue...so many people worse off and still holding strong! Gives me more courage to know I am not alone.Thank you for any help you can give!Jeanie
