First of all, I would like to say that we are not alone in fighting this terrible battle of brain cancer, Glioblastoma Multiforme. My 37 year old brother was diagnosed in January 2008 with Glioblastome Multiforme in which he had surgery, followed by Radiation and Chemotherpy. He did very well and he barely had side effects from radiation and chemotherapy, Temodar. He did lose his hair eventually and vomited only the first time. My brother is single and is actually learning disabled to which he is in denial of. He actually does not fully understand the gravity of his diagnosis and we feel its best for him not to know as he has had a great positive attidue during this whole time. It is hurting me more inside knowing that he does not know how severe it can be.
He has to have surgery again scheduled for Sept 2008 as GBM has returned. I also took him for a second opinion and was told the same thing, that surgery is required. I inquired if there were any clinical trials and this hospital has recommended using Tarceva (used for Lung Cancere and pancreatic Cancer). Has anyone here tried this type of study.
We all must pray and take it day by day as life is too short.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated and may we all keep fighting this horrible disease. God Bless us all.
