I found out March 5 I had colon cancer that spread to my liver and a few spots on my lung. My CEA count was at 40.8. Now after 2 chemo treatments my CEA count is 29.2 and my liver labs are all normal. My Doctor seems happy with all so far. I feel better but still scared cause I know this kind of cancer is bad. But I'm hopeful. I wish we all could just beat this thing.

Hi Tyrone:   I just noticed this was you -- how are you?   Never did hear what your doctors said about surgery, etc. If you want to share that information.

Love Sandy

Start now on a good diet,

recup will be a lot smoother.

Make sure the doc is skilled at these things, this opn in particular.

Go for robotic surgery, much less impact, shorter

recovery time, esp at 76.

Only one who knows real life expectancy is God,

docs like to mouth off a lot, as if they get paid by the word.

Esp at 76, make sure the rad/chemo is as benign as possible, they sometimes will give you more than needed,

but chemo is cumulative on its effects,

when it kicks his butt, you'll know.

Best of luck,

cancer is like combat, use your head a lot, but in the end, it is all about luck.

Chris

Doug is still doing well we are at 44 months and he is still on chemo, His doctors decided not to do any surgery since he still has some cancer in the liver and that is the trouble spot.  They say 5 years but one never knows.  They gave Doug 6 weeks to a couple of months because he ws so bad.  But he is stobbortn.  Be careful about surgery, find out if it is really neccesssary.  If the chemo is working and he is tolerating it, get a second opinion about surgery.  To many drs want to do surgery but it sometimes does motre harm.  Keep fighting and like my husband says, he is not ready.

oretta and Doug On to another vacation
