Throat cancer!??

Hi, Every now and then i have been noticing a feeling on my right tonsil which is sort of a pain but more of a swollen feeling. I can see there is a white sore on the tonsil it is farely small maybe a 1/6 inch in diameter but it can definately be felt. I thought it was no big deal and just another piece of food but when i tryed to remove it i needed to use force and was only able to remove the protruding part and not the base. It has grown back since the last time i pulled it but not much. could it be a strong sign of throat cancer and has anyone else had a similar symptom?

If you have not had a doctor check it yet please do. White spots in the mouth have a possibility of cancer.  Speedy treatment for such spots is very important.
