Hi, My father-in-law was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma a year ago for which he underwent radical nephrectomy. he was asymptomatic after that. However recent investigations revealed metastatic nodules in both his lungs. I'd appreciate if anyone can give me information about homeopathy as a line of treatment for this type of cancer.Thanks.

Hi, I had the same thing happen after my nephrectomy. However, my 3 month follow up ct scan showed some of the lesions in the lungs had disappeared. They normally do not do treatment until the lesions are a certain size. I go for a PET scan this week and am anxious to see if anything has changed. Good luck. And stay positive Janet

Hope your PET scan went ok. I'm trying to be as positive as I can...but it's tough. I still haven't found anyone who claims that Homeopathy as the main line of treatment has helped. Also you mentioned that treatment starts only after the lesions are of a particular size...do you know what the size is? Hope I hear from you soon. Saadiyah

I know that they have to be larger than 1/2" in size. Are you currently thinking you will go with homeopathic?

Hi Janet, My father-in-law has multiple nodules, most likely metastatic, both lungs. Most of these nodules are really tiny but one of them is about 1/2 an inch...He doesnt want to go in for immunotherapy and is really keen on homeopathy but we don't know how well it works. What treatment are u undergoing? And how did those lesions disappear? Did you take any medication for them at all? How did your PET scan go? Hope everything is fine.

Hi, My lesions just disappeared after about 5 months. All but one of them...which was about 1/2 inch. They are still watching it. The PET scan was good and really didn't show anything to worry about. No, I did not take any medication for the lesions or for the RCC at all. I think it is just one of those weird things that happens when you have cancer. Stay positive and keep believing in the best outcome. Janet

Hi Janet, That's really amazing! For the lesions to disappear all by themselves...Guess you're right...just one of the weird things that happen. I'm really happy for you. Hope the last one also disappears. Right now we're staying as positive as we can...but it does get difficult at times...then stories like yours help us keep the faith...thanks Saadiyah

Do not give up on making the insurance company pay. Appeal their decision. Find a support list for your sister's specific type of cancer (see http://www.acor.org and click on mailing lists), and ask for informational help in supporting your appeal. Many insurance companies reverse themselves on appeal

My previous post was supposed to go to another thread; sorry. If you are interested in conventional treatments for RCC, join an email support list specific to kidney cancer (http://cancerguide.org/kofaq/).
